The Killer blog

So whats happened since I last blogged?.....HHMMMM....Well, being on TV was alot of fun. I was a mini celebrity for a week. Everywhere i went, everyone told me how good I did on camera and I was thinking..."All i did was be tall." "I didnt say a thing" So for being tall I would like to thank...uumm...God...and my parents because the genes came from them somehow. I have my fifteen minutes of fame to owe to my mom and dad. Thank you......Thank you.......haha....so taht was alot of fun. I had to go to the apple store for an errand and one of the assistant managers recognized me from my brave stunt. That was cool because it was someone outside of being friend or family or co-worker or one of the 50,000 random people i told on the street.....So, I cant remember if much else happened that week. My friend Jennifer came up this weekend and that was a blast. Jennifer, Phil and I hung out pretty much the entire weekend. Me and Spangs (Jennifer Spangler) went to see the bodies exhibition. Bodies is an exibit that showcases 22 specimens, real people, who have been preserved and displayed to give us a better look inside ourselves...literally. That was quite fascinating. After we finished pretending we were in an episode of C.S.I. we went and saw Tim Burtons "The Nightmare Before Christmas" in Disney 3-D!!! Then we went around and took goofy pictures. The next day we went and hung out with the Statue of Liberty and visited Ground Zero. So it was a very eventful weekend and has turned out to be a very good week. We are dark so there are no new shows coming out so everything has been more relaxed but I was enlisted, once again, for the Tony Mendez Show. They took me down to wardrobe and I was fitted for a costume....a Dave Costume. They have a Dave mask and I am dressed up in a suit exactly like his. So basically I am going around killing people for halloween. It was quite entertaining but I forgot all the work that goes into acting. Ive been behind the camera for so long, that I forgot what it was light to be in the spotlight...anyway, I cant think of anything more to bore you with. Ill let you know when the Tony Mendez Halloween special is on the web so you can waste some time. I miss you guys! Tyler

I was on TV!!!!

Wow, SO I was finally on TV. Actually I did not think it would happen so soon. I guess Im at the half way point but I thought it would take me a while to get on the tube. I was wrong. If anyone missed the broadcast then you can go to the late show website and look for "Intern Jumping". Basically, an acrobat jumped on a trampoline and did a front flip over 5 of the late Show interns. Then Dave, decided to up the ante and added a 6th intern. Needless to say it was quite entertaining. After the first jump, Dave interviewed Jake Gyllenhall and after his interview, he walked outside and once he saw us, he pointed like he knew us. It was quite humorous that Jakme Gyllenhall was excited to see the interns who were just on tv. I gave him my autograph and then had to get back to work...lol...

As, long as we are on the tpoic of celebity sightings, I had the pleasure to say hi and shake hands with Bill Hader, last Monday. He is one of the stars of "Superbad" and he is also on Saturday Night Live. The same day, I saw Kid Rock and Halle Barry.

Then today, I had to run an errand for one of the make up artists and when I walked up the stairs, there is Richard Simmons in his bright red get up. In an instinctive "How are you, hows it going?" I forgot that who I just said hi too was a man I had sseen on TV for years and now here he was looking as goofy as he does on TV!!!! He extended his hand and said "Hi, I am Richard." Luckily, I played it cool and said "Hi, Im Tyler." What I really wanted to say was "Are you kidding me!!!! YOur freakin Richard Simmons!!!!". I was able to control my mind and continue with the conversation but thats like meeting Robert DeNiro and he saying, "Hi, Im Robert" and your like....Of course you are....Basically, my point of this is that it is so weird meeting celebrities in real life because you dont know how to act. Everything you know about them is what other people tell you...its quite funny...you forget that they actually exist...like, they are actual people..ok anyway, Richard A.K.A. "Dickie" was very nice. He asked me what I did at the show and I said I was an intern and then I had to get on my way but, I must say, I was very pleased to meet him....and I told him that...I said "Its quite a pleasure"...but once again, I wanted to say, you shouldnt be here. I should be watching you on a screen somewhere.

Ok, so things have been pretty exciting so far and I cant think of anything else to report. I help with a podcast every Tuesday, that my good frineds nate and Trey produce so if you miss me so much that you want to hear my voice then you can go to http://web.mac.com/treyhockman and click on the Podcast. This is my plug for you to listen to three nerds for about half an hour. The Podcast focuses on anything from movies to music and video games and I give a brief description about movies coming out that day. So if your interested check it out and I will talk to everyone later!

Im gonna be on TV!!!!!!.....Sort of....

Im going to explain the title of my blog later so that makes you read the whole thing.....haha....Im smart Huh?...anyway, Its been a good week. Not a lot happened at work but I do have a funny story to tell that happened last Thursday.

Me and Phil (the New York buddy) went out to Outback Steakhouse with some of the other Late Show staffers and we saw a street merchant pushing his cart on the sidewalk. Well, coming from the opposite direction was an old lady, imagine a fat version of Sophie from "the Gilmore Girls" with white hair and the attitude of the Wendy's "Wheres the beef?" lady. She was not pleased to see that this man was taking up the entire sidewalk with his cart. (obviously the guy was just trying to move and didnt mean to take up the entire sidewalk, but his cart was just big)...so the lady halts in her tracks and screams "Theres other people who use the sidewalk buddy!!!", Bewildered and embarrassed the merchant slowly and very politely tried to explain that there was no where for him to push his cart. The lady didnt seem to think this was a good enough reason so she huffed and puffed and proceeded to scream "I'm late!!!!!! I'm late!!!!!" down the street. Well, I really dont know what she was late for at 8:30 PM on a Thursday...maybe she was pissed that she was missing Ugly Betty. That would make me quite frustrated as well.

Ok, so now to a slightly more normal life. I went to Coney Island this weekend and it was amazing!!! It was very nice to see the beach and we also went to the New York Aquarium where they were celebrating the birth of a new baby boy Walrus!!!!!! We were very excited to see the festivities, particularly excited to see the man dressed like Sgt. Pepper with a sign around his neck that read "I am the Walrus"...Genius....and heres a clue for you all...the Walrus was Paul....

After the aquarium we went to THE ORIGINAL FAMOUS NATHANS for an ORIGINAL FRANKFURTER...we new it was the orginal because it said on the sign THIS IS THE ORIGINAL FAMOUS NATHANS!!!!! Who doesnt believe a sign? It truly was amazing.

Allright, since I have been in New York, I have been getting into more television shows and one of the pilots I really enjoyed was K-Ville. Its pretty much a typical cop drama but I cant help it....I really like it. Also, I saw "Into the Wild"....WOW!!!! Absolutely Beautiful movie!!!! I read the book a couple of years ago and loved it and was so thrilled to see they made it a movie. Its about a very smart boy who gives up his identity, abandons his car and life to live off of the land in Alaska. He gets to Alaska and dies. It sounds depressing but its not. You have to trust me and see the movie!

Ok, for the moment youve been waiting for. On Friday I was asked to be on "The Tony Mendez Show". Tony Mendez is Daves "Cue Card Boy" and he has his own web show online. I am not sure if it will be up Monday but go to cbs.com/lateshow and look for the Tony Mendez Show and I will be on the most recent one. If it is not up on Monday then it will definately be there on Tuesday. Also, if you watch the Late Show on Moday then more than likely I will be on the TONY MENDEZ SHOW Promo that they air before the musical guest performs..so keep a look out.

Allright well it was great writing, I hope you enjoy reading and supposedly this week will be busy so I should have some cool things to report. Peace out!!!

God Bless America....and Ivan Reitman.

So I havent blogged in a week or so. Sorry..... A few things have happened since then last time I blogged.

Last week was super busy. My friend Anne is the Production intern and she was out, sick on Monday and Tuesday. Since I have the most flexible schedule out of all the interns I vollunteered to work for her department that day as well as my department. It was a busy day because Human interest had a guy jumping 6 taxis with an ATV so I was running around helping the guys get that segment situated from 1-2 and 3:30-4:30 then into the control room filling in for Anne, took a dinner break and then back into the control room for the second taping. Whew, what a day but it was amazing. Sitting in the control room is awesome because its like the University Television control room, on crack!!!!

So Wednesday is a normal day and then Thursday comes and I have my first human tricks segment!!! The way it works is that the producers bring on 6 guys and they all perform their trick during rehearsal. Then the producers decide which one work well together to make a segment and then they pick three. I felt bad for the guys that didnt get picked but everyone got along so well and I think they were just excited about getting that far. I hung out with everyone from 12:00 to about 6:30 that night so it was sad to see them go but it was an awesome day. On a side note, I was standing literally five feet from mellissa Etheridge (Musical guest) and I smiled at her...I think she smiled back. Also, the human interest segment producer gave me a copy of Kevin Smiths new book and he signed it for me. Kevin Smith has doon the moveis, Jay and Silent bob Strike back, Dogma, Clerks and many other movies. He has a filthy mouth but is a real nice down to earth guy. I guess his movies are one of my guilty pleasures..haha...

If I have learned anything from this experience so far, is that I love the TV industry!!!! I love being involved and I know I want to do this for the rest of my life.

So that was last week. This weekend, me and Phil went to the Firehouse that they used in the Ghostbuster movies. Its a working firehouse and we bought patches from one of the firemen. Phil is a hugs Ghostbusters fan so his life's journey was complete and he can now die a happy man. Then we walked the brooklyn bridge and checked out prospect Park in brooklyn and it was gorgeous!!!

Well, I cant think of much else to report. This blog was not as creative as the others I felt. ALot has happened and Im tired but i promise the next one or two will be far more entertaining. Take care everyone and I miss you all!!
